Dear Parents,
On the beginning of the new ecclesiastical and academic year, I am pleased to announce that the classes of the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm Sunday School will begin on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
With the help of our volunteer Sunday School Teachers, the children will have the opportunity to come to know Christ and the life of the Church more deeply through Holy Scriptures, the lives of the Saints, the great feasts, the Divine Liturgy, and prayer, as well as through discussion and creative activities.
Our aim is not merely to impart knowledge to them, but to nurture in their hearts faith, love, hope, forgiveness, and a spirit of service, so that the Church may become for them a true home and a source of joy and strength throughout their lives.
Dear Parents, I kindly ask you to provide your children with this precious spiritual foundation and, when accompanying them to the Cathedral, to seat them in the front pews. Before Holy Communion, either I or the Parish Priest will give them a brief talk; afterwards, the children will receive Holy Communion and proceed to the classrooms for their Sunday School lessons.
For further information, please contact the Sunday School Coordinator, Dr Vasiliki Vasila Praxitelous, by phone at +46 76 061 69 37 or by email at vasiliki.vasila@gmail.com.
May the new Sunday School year be blessed and fruitful!
With paternal prayers,
† Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden
